Dr. Larry Jones
Dr. Larry M. Jones is a physician who has practiced Internal
Medicine in Decatur and Atlanta Georgia as well as in Charlotte, North Carolina. He noticed early on in his practice that many people had spiritual and social ills that needed to be addressed prior to their acceptance of good health care. Dr. Jones discovered that his patients were more apt to be stabilized and handle long term illnesses such as diabetes and hypertension better once vital issues in their personal lives had been approached to their satisfaction.
Dr. Jones also began to hold counseling sessions with men using the stories now recorded in this book. He noted the heartfelt and spirited discussions that ensued. He observed that these frank discussions fostered the development of stronger friendships and more stable personal lives amongst men. It was from these sessions that the idea of What Men Must Do was born.
Dr. Jones has had many sessions with this type of training. The most gratifying yet obvious observation of this journey is that men learn best from each other. Clearly, with all the work associated with this effort, developing a way for men to train each other is the key to improving their lives and the people they touch.
